Zuverlaessigkeitsgewerbe (Reliability Trade) Unlike most trades, the security trade requires a formal reliability assessment by the district authority BEFORE you can start working. This means you cannot begin immediately upon registration. The authority verifies your personal reliability, financial standing, and criminal record.

Sicherheitsgewerbe is a regulated trade under §94 Z.55 of the Austrian Trade Act (GewO 1994). The standard route is the qualification exam (befähigungsprüfung).
