Security Technology vs. Security Services
Austria has two separate security trades. This license (§94 Z.63)
covers the technical side: installing and maintaining alarm systems,
cameras, and access control. Guard services, event security, and
personal protection require the separate Sicherheitsgewerbe (§94 Z.62).
Data Protection (GDPR)
Installing CCTV systems requires careful compliance with GDPR and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG). Operators must conduct a data protection impact assessment for video surveillance in public or semi-public areas.
