Ingenierbuero vs. Ziviltechniker
An Ingenierbuero is a trade license under the GewO. A Ziviltechniker (civil engineer or
architect) is a liberal profession regulated by the Ziviltechnikergesetz, with the
authority to issue officially certified documents (Urkundenrecht). Where public
certification is required (e.g. building permits in some provinces), a Ziviltechniker
may be needed instead.
